FOUNDERS:

Kevin J. Howe, CPA

 

Kevin joined the firm upon graduation from college in 1962 and he became a partner with his father in 1965. His clients include many small, closely-held businesses in numerous industries. He has experience in tax compliance and planning matters including mergers, acquisitions, and sales and exchanges of businesses. He also has extensive audit and accounting experience relating to profit as well as not-for-profit businesses. Kevin is a graduate of St. Anselm College and Bentley College. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of various professional and civic organizations. Kevin is a past Chairman of the New Hampshire State Board of Accountancy.

John R. Riley, CPA

John joined the firm in 1975 as a partner.   Prior to this time, John had ten years of experience with an international accounting firm as a Commercial Audit Manager, during which time many of his clients were publicly-held, multi-location clients, as well as small, closely-held family businesses. He has substantial experience in auditing, tax, and consulting matters, for both large and small closely-held companies, in manufacturing, real estate, construction, professional practices, distribution, automobile, service, retail, not-for-profit and health care industries, among others. In addition, he has experience in tax compliance and planning matters as well as litigation support.  John's specialty within the firm is working with clients in business planning and developing business opportunities and problem identification and resolution.

John holds a Bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University and a Master's degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of various professional organizations.

 
MEMBERS:

Dennis P. Ryan, CPA

Denny joined the firm in 1975.   Upon graduation from college, Denny was employed by a national accounting firm for 2 years as a Commercial Audit Senior and staff member. His work experience includes extensive auditing and accounting work in the real estate, construction, professional practices, restaurant, service, manufacturing, federally-funded or sponsored programs and not-for-profit industries, as well as common trust funds, pooled employee benefit trust funds, and pension and profit-sharing plans, among others. In addition, he has extensive experience in partnership taxation, individual and corporate tax planning and litigation support.

Denny is a summa cum laude graduate of Babson College where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting.   He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of various professional and civic organizations.

Peter J. Kiriakoutsos, CPA

Peter joined Howe, Riley & Howe in 1979.   Prior to joining the firm, Peter was a financial examiner for the New Hampshire Insurance Department. Peter's areas of expertise include accounting, auditing, tax and advisory services for various closely-held businesses and not-for-profit organizations including real estate ventures, long term care facilities, professional practices, automobile, insurance, wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers and various service businesses. Peter also has significant experience in auditing employee benefit plans.

Peter is past President and Chairman of New England Peer Review, Inc. (NEPR), a not-for-profit organization responsible for administering the AICPA Peer Review Program in four New England States.   He also served two three-year terms on NEPR's executive committee.

Peter is a magna cum laude graduate of New Hampshire College (now known as Southern New Hampshire University) with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.   He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of various professional organizations.

Theodore M. Medrek, CPA

Ted's career with the firm began in 1980.  Ted's work experience includes a concentration in auditing and accounting in the manufacturing, automobile, retail, construction and real estate industries, professional practices, not-for-profit organizations, common trust and pooled employee benefit trust funds. He also has significant experience in partnership, corporate, trust and individual taxation and planning.

Ted is a summa cum laude graduate of Bentley College where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in accounting.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of various professional and civic organizations.

David A. Goldman, CPA

Prior to joining the firm in 1987, David was in charge of the tax department at the Manchester office of an international accounting firm for which he was employed for eight years. David's tax experience is extensive, including individual, corporate, estate and gift taxation. He has experience in both closely held and public companies as well as international corporations.

David received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University, an MBA from New York University, a JD from American University and an LLM degree from Boston University.   He was admitted to the Bar of New York and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.  He is a member of various professional and civic organizations.

Laurent E. Bournival, CPA

Larry began his career with the firm in August 1977.  His experience includes accounting, auditing, tax and advisory services in the newspaper, real estate, software development, not-for-profit, construction, restaurant, manufacturing, retailing and wholesaling industries. He is experienced in partnership, corporate, and individual taxation and planning areas. Larry also worked as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of a multimillion dollar manufacturing company for two years.

Larry is a summa cum laude graduate of Bentley College where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Science degree in Taxation.  He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of various professional organizations. 

 

Doreen L. McNeill, CPA

 

Doreen joined the firm in 1993 and became a member in 2008.   Her work experience includes auditing and accounting in construction, manufacturing, and healthcare industries, including significant experience in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement matters for long term facilities.   She also has extensive experience in audits of investments and retirement plans, and in corporate, individual and trust taxation and planning.

Doreen is a summa cum laude graduate of New Hampshire College (now known as Southern New Hampshire University) where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Business Administration.   She was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1995 and is a member of various professional organizations.

 

Lance R. Turgeon, CPA

Lance was employed by Howe, Riley & Howe in 1995 and became a member in 2008.   Lance's clients include long term care facilities, membership organizations, employee benefit plans, wholesalers and not-for-profit organizations.   Lance's work experience includes audits, reviews and compilations as well as tax return preparation and planning for individuals and business entities.    Lance also has extensive experience in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement matters for long term care facilities.

Lance received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern New Hampshire University (formerly New Hampshire College) in 1992, graduating summa cum laude, and a Masters in Business administration from the University of New Hampshire in 1995.   He became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1996.   Lance is a member of various professional organizations and he volunteered as Treasurer for Child Health Services from 1999-2005.
