Howe, Riley & Howe welcomes Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) students, Taylor Cook and Ana Byers as well as University of New Hampshire (UNH) student, William Boyce, to the firm as summer interns.
Ana Byers is returning for her second summer internship with us. She recently received the Outstanding Accounting Student Award at SNHU for her academic excellence and achievements in her undergraduate courses. She previously attended New Hampshire Technical College (NHTI) where she tutored small groups of students in accounting and business courses. Ana plans on working towards her Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license after graduating from SNHU with her Master’s degree in Accounting at the end of next summer. Ana shared the following related to her past experience with us, “the great thing about interning at HRH is that you get exposure to both audit and tax…and there isn’t a dull moment because you are constantly doing something new and different.” We welcome Ana back to our team and look forward to working with her and further expanding her public accounting experience.
William Boyce will be graduating with the UNH Class of 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business/Management. A University Honors student in the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics, William leads various campus organizations and inspires others to get involved and make a difference. On campus, he is the Financial Administrator for Student Organizations, an Employee for the Office of Student Involvement, and Director, Business Manager, and Event Chair for the Campus Activities Board. In addition to campus activities, William is also a representative for the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. He is volunteer of the church as a Council Representative, Deputy to the 79th General Convention, and a member of the Discernment Committee for the election the Bishop. We are honored to have William join us as an intern this summer.
Taylor Cook recently graduated from SNHU in the Degree in Three Accounting program. Being a Degree in Three student, she had a full schedule as her degree fulfilled a twenty credit quota every semester and blended core business classes into the curriculum allowing for both in class and out of class experiences. Taylor enjoys volunteering and being involved in her community. As an undergraduate, she was a founding member as well as Vice President of the Accounting Society at SNHU. She plans to return to SNHU and complete her Master’s degree in Accounting beginning this fall. Previously, Taylor worked for Quirk Chevrolet in Manchester as a Billing Clerk and she is excited to try something new and gain some public accounting experience during her summer internship with us. We welcome Taylor to a challenging internship with us this summer and are excited for her to join our team.
At HRH, interns are provided the same level of training and given many of the same responsibilities as our first year professionals which include: tax return preparation, participation in audits, interaction with both new hires and senior partners, and exposure to all aspects of a public accounting career.
Interns are exposed to both audit and tax and gain valuable experience in each. To learn more about internship opportunities at Howe, Riley & Howe, click here.
